Polar Plunge

Curbell employee, Liz Grimes, recently participated in the Special Olympics PA Polar Plunge.

As stated on the Special Olympics website, “The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by jumping or running into icy cold waters. Plunge participants take a quick dip in a river or pool to raise funds for Special Olympics Pennsylvania, the state’s largest year-round organization devoted to sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.” There are over 1,800 Plungers participating in the fundraising event this year.

On January 30, 2016, Liz took a dip in the Delaware River to support her son, her community, and all of the people who have touched her life through the Special Olympics. Together, Curbell and Liz’s fundraising team (The Ice Cubes) were able to raise approximately $1,300 for the wonderful cause. We are proud that Liz and her team were one of the top fundraisers for this event!

Liz is already prepared to plunge again in 2017!
