This July, Curbell Medical’s own Maintenance Mechanic, Paul Volo, participated in a local charity event called MassiveLAN, hosted by Intel LANFest at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, NY. Paul, responsible for Social Media, keeps the followers aware of upcoming events and the happenings during each event. Additionally, Paul is responsible for communication and organization with event sponsors and he also assists throughout the event running tournaments and mini-games along with taking care of technical issues attendees have during the event.
LANFest is a non-profit organization that brings awareness to gamers and works with local and national charitable causes. Their website boasts “Over $1,182,672 Raised for Charity!” MassiveLAN, one of many LANFest chapters in the country, holds bi-annual events that give back to our community by donating the entry fees collected from their events to WNY charities including Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, and Meals on Wheels.
The 2019 summer event raised $3,254.39 for WNY Heroes, Inc., an organization that provides financial assistance and support resources to veterans and their families; over $50,000 has been raised for local WNY charities by MassiveLAN since 2012!
Visit the LANFest website and you’ll find a list of honorable Core Values similar to our own including Mission-Oriented, Respect and Communication, Teamwork, Integrity, LANFest Passion, and Community. Not only is Paul a staff member of MassiveLAN in charge of Social Media, but he’s also a Gamer!
